Indiana University School of Medicine currently operates three active ECHO tracks focused on opioid use disorder treatment and integrated care.
OUD ECHO for Prescribers & Dispensers R13
Schedule: 2nd Wednesday monthly, January 14 - July 8, 2026 | 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM ET
This ECHO clinic focuses on evidence-based practices for prescribing and dispensing medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). Participants will engage with IU specialists and peers to discuss complex cases, review current research, and enhance their clinical skills in treating OUD.
Best Practices for Treating Pregnant, Postpartum Individuals and Infants Impacted by SUD
Schedule: Tuesdays, January 13 - December 8, 2026 | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET
This ECHO clinic provides comprehensive training on evidence-based practices for treating pregnant and postpartum individuals and their infants impacted by substance use disorder. Topics include harm reduction, neurochemistry, cultural competency, legal considerations, and family-centered care approaches.
ECHO Integrated Behavioral Health & OUD
Schedule: 1st, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday monthly, February 4 - March 25, 2026 | 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM EST
Integrated care in Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) treatment is a collaborative and comprehensive approach where healthcare professionals from various disciplines work together in a coordinated manner to address a patient's biological, psychological, and social needs. Target professionals include psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health and substance abuse social workers, physicians, primary care providers, and community health workers.

About Project ECHO
The Opioid ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) project is a cost-free partnership between primary care providers and Indiana University specialists to improve the treatment of opioid use disorders in rural and underserved areas. ECHO uses technology to facilitate mentoring and knowledge sharing, enabling clinicians to provide best practice care for complex and chronic diseases in their communities.
