MATE Act Training Requirements for Buprenorphine Prescribing
The X-waiver was eliminated in 2023. Practitioners with DEA Schedule III authority can now prescribe buprenorphine for OUD. New or renewed DEA registrations require 8 hours of training on substance use disorders. Find current training requirements and resources here.
